Constitutional Conservative: Virginia federal court overturns state handgun purchase bans for 18-20 year olds.

Analysis:

Many states set artificial barriers to purchasing a handgun, such as restricting sales to people over the age of 21. This was the case in Virginia in which the plaintiff was over the age of 18 but not yet 21 and was unable to buy a handgun to keep herself safe from an abusive ex-boyfriend.  “Our nation’s most cherished constitutional rights vest no later than 18,” wrote federal Judge Julius Richardson.

The attack on our right to bear arms has intensified with Democrats controlling the White House and both chambers of congress. Yet the constitution continues to guarantee us liberty and at least this federal judge had the courage to uphold the constitution by ensuring a citizen who is the age of majority may purchase a handgun to protect herself.

Conclusion:

Another win for the U.S. Constitution, our founding fathers, and those of us who honor and love individual rights and liberty. Of course, the Biden Justice Department “disagrees” with the judge and will likely seek to appeal the decision. Biden and the “progressive" Left seem to want to restrict law-abiding citizens from bearing arms, while allowing violent criminals to go largely unrestrained. Tragic.

This legal victory reminds us of the power of the Constitution, the value of plainly written text, and the incredible foresight of our foundering fathers. We owe them a great debt - it’s a privilege to have been born to this constitutional republic!
