Constitutional Conservative: Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush Abandons Republicans and All Harris County Victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Republican County Commissioner Jack Cagle Says George P. Bush’s decision “...mocks common sense.”

Analysis:

Texas’ George P. Bush is the elected Land Commissioner.

Bush’s office has been holding a huge pot of federal money to aid those harmed by the 2017 hurricane Harvey, a category 4 hurricane that killed more than 100 Texans and caused billions of dollars of damage. Roughly four years after the harm caused by Hurricane Harvey, George P. Bush is only now distributing much of the approximate $1 Billion in federal aid. And the number of dollars given by Bush to the citizens of Harris County: Zero - $0 is what Republicans and small business owners in Harris County got from George P. Bush even though Harris County some more than half of the total damage caused by Hurricane Harvey.

Conclusion:

There are at least two massive failures by George P. Bush with the Harvey funds. First, George P. Bush took well over three years to distribute hundreds of millions of dollars in federal aid to those harmed in Harris County and beyond. Perhaps even worse, when George P. Bush finally started allocating funds, he gave zero – not one penny – to the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Harris County, our state’s most populous county.
