Constitutional Conservative: Biden Takes CA EPA standards nationwide: Mandates 52 Miles to the Gallon in Five Years – 2026
Analysis:
Biden implemented California’s mileage standards and telling automakers that 52 miles per gallon will be required by 2026, just five years from now. This, of course, means that electric vehicles will need to go from about 3% of all automobiles sold to around 50% - all in the next five years. If you think your electricity is scary or expensive now, just wait until half of all cars are plugged in.
Counter-intuitively automakers like Ford, BMW, and Honda all sang the praises of Biden’s new mandates. Perhaps those praises are more about the approximately $10,000 per vehicle tax-payer subsidy given to electric automobile manufactures and or individual buyers through rebates, government-funded discounts, or direct manufacturer subsidies. Of course, a subsidy is simply a few dollars of tax taken from each of us and then given in bulk to those making or buying electric vehicles, which in turn raise the demand and price of electricity for those of us already paying for that subsidy.
Conclusion:
The Democrat’s Green New Deal agenda just got publicly sanctioned by auto-unions, auto-manufactures and the radical environmentalists of the AOC-ilk. Yet the way the mandate is funded is more offensive than most government programs: the mandate is funded through a loop of costs and taxes taken from our pockets and given to the progressives buying or building electric cars. So, we the hardworking honest, and able portions of America are overtaxed so as to subsidize the far left voters buying expensive electric vehicles while those same electric vehicles drain more and more electricity from the grid both rising electricity prices for the rest of us while also increasing roll-blackouts due to increased electricity demand.
